Me and Denise

Denise Welch that is xCoronation street finished the Manchester Run on Sunday.

The day was wet a typical Manchester summer Sunday infact and hard to motivate yourself to get up and run 10k in the Rain. But I got the crew up and after a few arguments we made the start line with 25,000 other runners.

It was a difficult run but the cheering and the support from Macmillan drove me on and I was determined to do a time less than 1 hour - which I did 59 minutes and 29 seconds to be exact. This meant a solid push towards the end of the race but well worth it.

I reckon I have raised a total of £170 for Macmillan so worth the effort. At the end in the Macmillan tent friends Keiron and Tia made it into town to welcome me back (no mean feat after a Saturday night out - for them that is) and a photo from the Macmillan team made it by e-mail and is posted here.

To top it off I got back after my first week at Microsoft to hear that our photo had made it to the Wilmslow Express. Christine picked the paper up on Saturday and low and behold all my comments and a picture on Page 10 made the event one to remember. I've scanned it in and place it here.
